DR. SCOTT GONTAREK

After starting his optometric career in 1998, Dr. Scott Gontarek has practiced in Chesapeake since 2003. A graduate of Southern College of Optometry, he completed a rotation at Eglin Air Force Base and then gained invaluable experience co-managing patients in a busy refractive surgery/LASIK practice in Wisconsin. Upon arriving in Chesapeake, Dr. Scott built a primary care practice in the Western Branch area, catering to all members of the family. He developed a reputation as a doctor who truly cares about his patients and takes pride in providing them with outstanding service using the most up to date technologies. He and Dr. Lisa joined forces in their current location in 2010, where he continues to do so.

Dr. Scott has a soft spot for veterans. He always takes the time to thank them for their service and enjoys their stories- especially anything involving planes. He’s also got a great sense of humor and likes to prank the staff and to tell them dad jokes. It is never dull moment when Dr. Scott is around. His favorite thing about being an optometrist is how rewarding it is to help others see better. When he is not at work, he enjoys riding his motorcycle, hunting, and fishing. He also enjoys spending time with his kids, skiing, and marksmanship.
